Digvijaya Singh taunts Centre for allowing Kumbh amid surge in COVID-19 cases

New Delhi: Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Tuesday took pot shot at the Centre for allowing Kumbh ‘mela’ (fair) despite surge in novel coronavirus infections.

Taking to twitter, the veteran leader posted in Hindi, ‘‘While cricket fans are not allowed to watch a match in stadium due to increasing infections, lakhs of devotees are allowed to congregate in Uttarakhand kumbh. Thanks!’’

India recorded 24,492 new COVID-19 cases and 131 fatalities in the past 24 hours. (UNI)
