New Delhi: Country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki would raise prices of its various models from September.

The company in a regulatory filing to BSE on Monday said that it has become imperative to pass on some impact of the additional cost to the customers through a price rise.

"...we wish to inform you that over the past year the cost of Company's vehicles continue to be adversely impacted due to increase in various input costs. Hence, it has become imperative to pass on some impact of the additional cost to the customers through a price rise," Maruti Suzuki said.

"The price rise has been planned across models in September 2021," it added.

Market leader Maruti rolls out some of the popular hatchbacks such as WagonR and Swift. Dzire is among its popular sedans sold in the Indian market.

Prices of various primary raw materials such as steel, copper and aluminium have been on the rise following global trends and higher demand. (UNI)
