New Delhi: 2022 was the year when B-Town shrugged off the heavy weight of the pandemic and exhaled a little.
As long delayed films began to release, theatres began to buzz once again, production houses grew busy and slowly but surely, the culture of joyful celebrations returned.
Here is our pick of some of the most talked about parties this year.
1) Ayushmaan Khurrana and Tahira Kashyaap:
Ayushmaan’s thought-provoking comedy 'Doctor G' released on October 14, and on October 17, he and wife Tahira threw a pre-Diwali bash which drew several celebrities including Karan Johar, newlyweds Richa Chadha, and Ali Fazal, Manish Malhotra, Ananya Panday, Kriti Sanon, Rakul Preet Singh among others. The party marked the beginning of the festive season in B-Town and was widely written about.
2) Manish Malhotra:
The host with the mostest, Manish Malhotra throws parties that are as legendary as his designs and he is known to orchestrate intimate and yet lavish soirees for the chosen few at his luxurious townhouse. This year too, his Diwali bash was much talked about with everyone from best buddy Karan Johar to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Kajol, Madhuri Dixit, Karisma Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra, Kiara Advani, Shanaya Kapoor, Suhana Khan, Ananya Panday, Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and many more in attendance.
3) Anand Pandit:
The veteran producer known as a man with the Midas touch hosted a glittering bash on October 22 where all the A- listers led by megastar Amitabh Bachchan came together to mark the end of the pandemic and the beginning of a new season of hope in the industry. Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan, Kajol, Kriti Sanon, Aayushman, Kartik, Kapil Sharma, Shatrughna Sinha, Rakesh Roshan, Jeetendra, Sonu Sood Siddharth Malhotra and several others joined Pandit in celebrating a remarkable year when his Gujarati film, 'Fakt Mahilao Maate' raked in the big bucks and he distributed the delightful hit 'Doctor G' while also preparing to step into Kannada cinema with star-studded co-production.
4) Kriti Sanon:
The upcoming star who is fast becoming the favourite of established and independent production-houses hosted a sparkling Diwali bash which was attended by her 'Bedhiya' co-star Varun Dhawan, Karan Johar, Ayushmann Khurrana, Aditya Roy Kapur, Ananya Panday, Rakul Preet Singh, Vaani Kapoor, Neha Dhupia, and Angad Bedi among others. The attendance went on to show that the newbie who had been an outsider once had finally arrived in style.
5) Ramesh Taurani:
Well-known producer, Ramesh Taurani's parties always attract hordes of paparazzi and the biggest stars and this year , it made waves for the procession of young and established stars like Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif, Shilpa Shetty, Kartik Aaryan, Shehnaaz Gill, Riteish Deshmukh Genelia, Pulkit Samrat and Athiya Shetty among others.
