New Delhi: Bollywood's iconic film Sholay is all set to dazzle audiences once again with its 4K restored version, premiering at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on September 6, 2025. Directed by Ramesh Sippy, this timeless classic celebrates its 50th anniversary with a grand gala screening at Toronto's Roy Thomson Hall.

The Film Heritage Foundation, in association with Sippy Films Pvt Ltd, has painstakingly restored the film to its former glory, bringing to life its powerful story, memorable characters, and iconic songs like "Yeh Dosti" and "Mehbooba Mehbooba". However, fans in India are eagerly awaiting a domestic release, as the current plans are only for a North American premiere.
