Actor Malaika Arora's father commits suicide, jumps off building terrace

Bollywood actor Malaika Arora's father committed suicide on Wednesday morning, police said.

Anil Arora jumped off his building terrace in Mumbai's Bandra. The incident took place around 9 am today.

Senior police officers reached the spot and no suicide note has been found so far, officials added.

The body has been sent for post-mortem and a probe is underway, police said.

Malaika's ex-husband Arbaz Khan arrived at her residence to offer condolences following the news of the suicide.

The actor’s parents divorced when she was 11 years old, and she moved to Chembur with her mother and sister Amrita Arora.

Her mother, Joyce Polycarp, is a Malayali Christian, and her father, Anil Arora, was a Punjabi, who worked in the Indian Merchant Navy.
