Bengaluru: Impressed with Vivek Agnihotri's The Kashmir Files, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Sunday announced tax free screenings of the film across Karnataka.
"Kudos to @vivekagnihotri for #TheKashmirFiles, a blood-curdling, poignant & honest narrative of the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from their home land. To lend our support to the movie & encourage our people to watch it, we will make the movie tax-free in Karnataka,” Bommai tweeted.
Agnihotri has directed the film that depicts the genocide of Kashmiri Hindus who were brutally killed by Islamist extremists, triggering exodus from the Valley.
Karnataka is the third state to announce tax free screening of The Kashmir Files. Earlier, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh governments have announced tax free screenings across respective states. (UNI)
