Amir Khan appeals people not to waste water

Aurangabad: Paani Foundation Founder and Bollywood actor Aamir Khan have appealed to the people not to waste water. Addressing a press conference along with his spouse Kiran Rao and CEO Satyajit Bhatka after visiting site of water conservation in Kolhi Village in Vaijapur taluka of the district, he said those who were staying in urban areas should do water harvesting.

He said, 'At least 1.5 lakh urban people across the state contributed their voluntary work as 'Jalmitra' on the occasion of International Day in 100 villages which got tremendous response to our call.' He said urbanist had reliase that what was important of water and what were it's resources. Paani Foundation is people's movement to make Maharashtra drought free.

It is working seriously since last three years for the purpose after inspiration of Satyamev Jayate show. This year 4,039 villages across 75 talukas participated in the Paani Foundation's Water Cup Competition 2018. Decentralised watershed management was the scientific solution to drought, he said.
