Superstar Amitabh Bachchan today penned a message for his grandson Agastya Nanda, who is all set to make his big-screen debut with the upcoming war drama “Ikkis.”Directed by Sriram Raghavan and produced by Dinesh Vijan, the film narrates the inspiring story of India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee, Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal.
After watching the film’s trailer, Bachchan took to X to share his pride and emotions over Agastya’s portrayal of the brave soldier, calling it a profoundly special moment for the family.He wrote, “Agastya! I held you in my hands as soon as you were born… A few months later, I held you again and your soft fingers reached out to play with my beard. TODAY, you play in theatres all over the world. You are SPECIAL… all my prayers and blessings to you. May you always bring glory to your work and immense pride to the family.”
Recently, the makers unveiled the powerful trailer of “Ikkis,” showcasing Agastya Nanda as the determined and fearless Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal. The film captures his journey from his training days at the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla near Pune, to his heroic moments during the Indo-Pak war.
The trailer opens with Khetarpal’s vow to earn the Param Vir Chakra for his regiment and highlights his relentless courage on the battlefield. It also weaves in a tender love story, adding emotional depth to the wartime narrative.
Viewers catch a glimpse of Khetarpal’s iconic tank, ‘Famagusta,’ which he commanded during the war. Veteran actor Dharmendra portrays Khetarpal’s father, while Jaideep Ahlawat plays a senior army officer who proudly declares, “Your son is a shining example for both the Indian Army and the Pakistan Army.”
The trailer concludes with Khetarpal’s immortal words, “No, Sir. I will not abandon my tank. My gun is still working. I’ll get these b****rds.”The star cast includes Sikandar Kher, Ekavali Khanna, Shree Bishnoi, Simar Bhatia, Deepak Dobriyal and Mohan Godara in key roles. The film is slated for a theatrical release in December 2025.
