New Delhi: Known for her power-packed performances from South Indian movies to Bollywood, actress Taapsee Pannu says 'Pink' has given her a sense of direction and that audience accept her doing 'out of the box' stuff.Talking to UNI, Taapsee who was in the national capital to promote her upcoming movie ‘Dil Juunglee' along with her co-star Saqib Saleem said,' For every actor, there comes a film that gets him/her acknowledgement nationwide or even beyond. And that becomes the identity of an actor.'

'Of course cinema like 'Pink' is path-breaking and got me noticed, and will stay with me for the rest of my life, but that doesn't mean I will choose everything according to 'Pink'. Yes, it has given me a sense of direction, like this is what people like to see me in, people are accepting me doing 'out of the box' stuff, and I will continue doing that. But that doesn't mean I will stop doing the other kind of stuff that I have,' Taapsee said.

Telling about her character Koroli Nair in the movie, Taapsee said,'I am playing a multi-millionaire's daughter.''She is 'Alice in wonderland' type who has her own world, where everything is good and there is no reality check, and there is no practicality in her life. She thinks that 'a Knight in shining armour' will come and will marry her. So until her bubble bursts, and how she changes as a person comes in the second half,' the 'Judwaa 2' actress said.

Talking about the USP of the movie, the actress said,'It's not a path-breaking cinema. The movie is a rom-com. A boy meets girl and falls into love. So, in this kind of setup, the moments we create, the humour we give, the relatability factor of the characters, the audience will enjoy with good chartbuster music.''That is all very promising. I am not selling you a film like 'Naam Shabana' or 'Pink' but ‘Dil Juunglee' is a purely entertainment movie,' she said.

When asked whether she ever felt out of the place in the industry as she comes from a non-filmy background, Taapsee said,'I think that we will keep feeling from the first date to even if we become the biggest actors in the industry. We will still feel that we have come from somewhere else.''And there is nothing wrong in it or have to shy. It makes us try and struggle harder because every Friday is the deciding factor for us,' she said.

When enquired whether she has any dream role, Taapsee said,'I think I am getting quite a good variety of roles right now and I don't have any regrets.''Dil Juunglee' is an upcoming Romantic Comedy movie written and directed by Aleya Sen. It stars Tapsee Pannu, Saqib Saleem, Abhilash Thapliyal, Nidhi Singh and Srishti Shrivastava. The story revolves around the friendship and the love story of Sumit (Saqib) and Koroli (Taapsee), along with the big and small nuances of a relationship. The ups and downs of love and friendship are portrayed with the angle of fun, madness and craziness. The flick is scheduled to release on February 23. (UNI)
