A prominent actor of Tollywood, Dhanush kicked off his journey in Bollywood with "RanJhanaa" released in 2013. He shared the screen with Sonam Kapoor and Swara Bhaskara. Despite the death in climax of Kundan, the character played by him, the film was not only a hit but its music album still sounds fresh and imbibing
The next big leap of Dhanush in Bollywood came two years later when he was seen with the mega star Amitabh Bachchan in "Shamitabh." Portraying the role of a dumb guy, Dhanush matched the acting prowess of Big B. However the movie didn’t fare well at the box office and few critics termed him another ‘one time wonder’ from the south.
