Baahubali’, ‘Sultan’, ‘Airlift’, Bajirao Mastani’ among feature films selected at IFFI

Mumbai: Telugu blockbuster ‘Baahubali’ along with Bollywood hits ‘Sultan’, ‘Airlift’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani’ have been selected in the Feature films section of the Indian Panorama at the 47th Internatioonal film festival of India, 2016, the Information and Broadcating Ministry said today.

The Jury for Feature Films, headed by well-known actor and Director, Rajendra Singh Babu, has selected 22 films out of 230 eligible entries while the Non-Feature films Jury chaired by well-known documentary filmmaker Arvind Sinha has picked 21 films for the Non feature film sections in the Indian Panorama.

The Jury has recommended Sanskrit film ‘Ishti’, directed by G Prabha as the Opening Feature Film of Indian Panorama 2016.As per Clause 8.6 of the Indian Panorama 2016 Regulations the Best Feature Film of 63rd National Film Awards 2015, titled “Baahubali” Directed by S S Rajamouli is included in the Indian Panorama 2016.

‘Ima Sabitri’ directed by Bobo KH has been chosen as the Opening Film by the Non-Feature Film Jury.As per Clause 8.6 of the Indian Panorama 2016 Regulations the Best Non Feature Film of 63rd National Film Awards 2016, titled “Amdavad Ma Famous” directed by Hardik Mehta is included in the Indian Panorama 2016, by virtue of direct entry.

The list of Feature Films selected for Indian Panorama section for 47th International Film Festival of India 2016 also includes Malayalam films ‘Roopanthram’, ‘Kaadu Pookkunna Neram’ and ‘Veeram Macbeth’, Kannada films ‘U Turn’ and ‘Harikatha Prasanga’, Marathi films ‘Sairat ‘, ‘Ekk Albela’, ‘Ringan’ and ‘Natsamrat - Asa Nat Hone Nahi’, Manipuri film ‘Loktak Lairembee’, Bengali films ‘Sahaj Paather Gappo Colours of Innocence’, ‘Chitrokar’, ‘Shankhachil’ and ‘Bastu Shaap’, Tamil film ‘Irudhi Sutru’, Hindi film ‘Pinky Beauty Parlour’, English film ‘Mantra’, Konkani film ‘K Sera Sera’ and Assamese film ‘Dikchow Banat Palaax’.
The 13 Members Feature film Jury, comprising Producer and Director Rama Vij, Director Arup Manna, Director, producer and director C V Reddy, Producer and Director, producer and director Girish Mohite, writer.


K.Puttaswamy, producer and director N.Krishnakumar, filmmaker Sabyasachi Mohapatra, director and columnist Sanjay Pawar and film critic Satinder Mohan, took a month to finalise the selections.The 7 Members Non feature film Jury took 15 days to finalise the selections.
As per Clause 8.
