Actror Tamannaah Bhatia has been summoned as a witness by the Maharashtra Cyber Cell for questioning in connection with the 2023 illegal IPL matches streaming case.

The ‘Baahubali’ actress has been asked to appear for questioning on April 29. It is also reported that Sanjay Dutt was asked to appear for questioning earlier this week. However, he couldn’t appear because he was out of India and asked for a new date.

“Maharashtra Cyber summons actor Tamannaah Bhatia for questioning in connection with the illegal streaming of IPL 2023 on Fairplay App that caused loss of Crores of Rupees to Viacom. She has been asked to appear before Maharashtra Cyber on 29th April,” ANI posted on X (previously Twitter).

“Actor Sanjay Dutt was also summoned in this connection on 23rd April but he had not appeared before them. He had, instead, sought a date and time for recording his statement and said that he was not in India on the date,” the news agency added.

Tamannaah and Sanjay allegedly endorsed FairPlay’s subsidiary app of the Mahadev betting app.

The Maharashtra Cyber Cell has already recorded statements of singer Badshah and the managers of actors Sanjay Dutt and Jacqueline Fernandez in the case.

Mahadev Online betting app was operated by Saurabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal from Dubai.

The Mahadev betting app came under the ED radar following Chandrakar’s lavish Rs 250 crore wedding in the UAE in February last year, paid for entirely in cash.

Then, actors Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, who have appeared in ads for the app, were summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning.
