Women Empowerment today has taken on a new meaning. Giving out powerful messages of deep courage & unshakeable resilience, many inspiring short documentaries are bringing forward voices & stories of empowered women who need to be seen & heard.
Bandra Film Festival presented by FilmKaravan in collaboration with YouTube in their next line up will be showcasing two amazing shorts on 30th August as part of its upcoming theme 'Women Empowerment' on its YouTube channel. The digital film festival will be showcasing Michelle Fiordaliso's 'The Streets are Ours' and Suyash Bajpai & Saurabh Agarwal's 'Parvaaz'.
The line up has 'Parvaaz' a documentary about empowerment done right through actions and not just spoken words through an organization - Sanatkada, which provides these women various modern training programs making their lives worth living. Directed by Suyash Bajpai & Saurabh Agarwal the short film stars Madhavi Kuckreja, Nasreen Khatoon and Meena Soni and 'The Streets are Ours' directed by Michelle Fiordaliso's is a documentary short that tells the inspiring story of two Pakistani women: Sabeen Mahmud, founder of Karachi performance space T2F, who paved the way for American actress/writer Fawzia Mirza to perform her one-woman show across Pakistan, one month before Mahmud's tragic murder.
Talking about the line up, festival programmer, Andrea Manath said, "It’s an honor to showcase such incredible and inspiring stories that celebrate courageous and bold women and the filmmakers who create them. Giving a platform and exhibiting great talents and content will be our continued goal at the festival which will help highlight experienced voices in the industry."
