Mumbai: Batti Gul Meter Chalu had an interesting plot based on inflated bills raised by the Discom. The stars Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor are in the leading role. Despite the mixed response from public and critic the movie has fared above average in the first weekend.

The movie opened up with a collection of 6.76 crores on Friday. The second-day collection shoots up to 7.96 crores. The collections remained on a high on Sunday despite an India vs Pakistan cricket match. The movie collected 8.54 on Sunday. The gross collection of the movie has reached 23.26 crore.(WD)
