Been in situations where I felt that I needed help: Tapsee Pannu

Mumbai: After her much acclaimed role as a protagonist fighting against sexual assault, Tapsee Pannu has once again donned the role of a strong woman in her latest movie, Naam Shabana.
 

In the movie, which has been received well at the box office, Tapsee plays the role of Shabana, an intelligence officer from India. She toils her way up to become an intelligence officer to take revenge for the murder of the man she loved. Interestingly, the character was first unveiled in Akshay Kumar starrer, Baby.

On the sidelines of promoting the film, Tapsee took time to meet a few of her fans in Mumbai and Delhi.  Godrej Security Solutions, which has been championing the cause of creating awareness on the need for personal security in the country, has associated with Naam Shabana. In the film, the intelligence bureau is equipped with several key security solutions.

During the promotional event, she spoke about her film as well as the need for personal security. She revealed that though she has a strong team to secure her now, before becoming a celebrity, there have been moments where she faced security threats. “Before I became a celebrity, I have been in situations where I felt that I needed help,” the actor revealed.

However, the actress who had undergone serious training in self defence for her movie, strongly suggested her fans to take charge of their personal security, and more importantly to not panic in such situations. “[If you face an unfortunate situation] please do not panic. You should shout, scream, run...use your presence of mind in the situation and escape. The confidence to react in such situation might come from the fact that you are prepared and alert. Learn self defence tactics. At the same time, there are many apps and systems that trigger an alarm and act as a deterrent, use them effectively.”
