New Delhi: Denying that his forthcoming movie 'Befikre' was inspired by American romantic comedy 'No Strings Attached’, Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh today said the Hindi Rom-Com is an original work of Aditya Chopra."The movie has got nothing to do with the American romantic comedy 'No Strings Attached'.It's an original material.

There is a dearth of writers in the Indian cinema.Aditya has written this originally with the whole heart and soul," the Bajirao Mastani actor said on a trip to the capital, to promote his film.On a query as to why the filmmaker decided to make a light-hearted flick like Befikre, after giving chartbusters like 'Dilwale Dulhaniyan Le Jayenge', 'Mohabbattein' and 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi', which had heavy dose of emotions, Ranveer said, 'Aditya Chopra believes that the Indian audience has evolved and it's not necessary to include that heavy dose of emotions.

The film is light-hearted and there is an emotional connect and freshness attached to it.
' On whether the movie aims targets only teenagers, Ranveer said, "it has a universal appeal.
People of all ages can watch this movie. The flick is progressive and modern, with a traditional heart and soul." Speaking on the occasion, lead actress of the flick Vaani Kapoor, who had earlier worked in Yash Raj films' 'Shudh Desi Romance', said she feels lucky to work with Ranveer.

"I couldn't have asked for a better co-actor.I'm lucky that I got an opportunity to work with Ranveer.I like him as an actor and as an audience, I love watching his flicks," she said.Asked how she relates to the character of the French-born Indian girl Shyra in the movie, the 28-year-old actress said, "I share the qualities of self-respect, dignity and one who is true to herself with Shyra.

This are some of the major similarities between Vaani and Shyra. But I feel she is a lot more daring, cool and speaks her mind." Befikre is a feisty romance that celebrates being carefree in love.A quintessential Delhi boy Dharam (Ranveer Singh) comes to Paris for work in search of an adventure.Just when he is about to embark on this journey of life, he bumps into a wild, free-spirited, French-born Indian girl Shyra (Vaani Kapoor). The movie is written, directed, and produced by Aditya Chopra under his YRF banner. The film was shot in Paris and Mumbai.
Befikre is slated to hit the theatres on December 9.(UNI)
