Mumbai: Bollywood film producer Karan Johar, along with ace Director Mahesh Bhatt, today met City Police Commissioner Dattaray Padsalgikar and Joint Police Commissioner Deven Bharati seeking police protection, following threat by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) to vandalise the multiplexes, if they screen Karan's film "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil,' featuring Pakistani actor Fawad Khan.

Mr Johar and Mr Bhatt, who is the president of Film and Television Producers Guild of India, demanded to provide protection to the theatres, which will screen the film. The top police officers have given assurance that they will provide adequate protection to cinema theatres, as and when required.

Meanwhile, MNS Chitrapat Sena Chief Amey Khopkar has written a letter to Multiplex owners, not to screen 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, as it was featuring Pakistani actor Fawad Khan. The opposition by MNS and some other political parties to movies with actors from Pakistan in the aftermath of Uri terror attack, has put a question mark on the fate of Johar’s flick. (UNI)
