Mumbai: Actors Boman Irani and Aamir Khan paid a heartfelt tribute to their 3 Idiots co-star Achyut Potdar, who passed away at the age of 91.
Recalling him as a "true gentleman," Irani asserted that Potdar left an ever-lasting impression with his humility and warmth.
In a post on instagram, Irani said, “With deep respect, remembering Achyut Potdar Ji. A true gentleman and a memorable artist. My heartfelt condolences.”
He also added, “Achyut ji was not only a colleague but a great human being. His simplicity, kindness, and professionalism towards his work made him a pleasure to work with. On the sets of 3 Idiots, he gave life to each and every scene and won everyone over with his grace. We lost a gentleman today."
Aamir Khan also expressed his grief over the veteran actor’s death through an emotional note shared by his production house.
It read, “I am very saddened to hear about Achyutji passing away. He was an amazing actor, a wonderful human being, and a great colleague. We will miss you, Achyutji. My heartfelt condolences to his family.”
Potdar, a regular face in both Marathi cinema and Bollywood, performed in more than 125 films, ranging from iconic roles in Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Chak De! India, and Taal to various other acting assignments. He passed away on Sunday in Mumbai due to age-related problems.
