New Delhi: Popular comedian Raju Srivastava was rushed to AIIMS New Delhi late Tuesday evening after he collapsed while working out. The doctors at the institute diagnosed him with heart attack, sources said.
Shrivastava's health deteriorated while he was running on a treadmill at a South Delhi-based gym. The actor felt severe chest pain following which he suddenly collapsed and was rushed to the hospital by his gym trainer.
The noted comic was also given a CPR twice to resuscitate his heart. He is currently undergoing the treatment.
According to the team of doctors looking after Shrivastava, he is said to be out of danger.
His friend and comic Sunil Pal shared an update on social media about Shrivastava's health where he revealed that the stand-up comedian is doing good now. While his health deteriorated last night, he is recovering rapidly and will be home soon, he added.
Shrivastava's team told the media that he had arrived Delhi to meet a few political leaders.
The 58-year-old comedian has been a part of several television shows like The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, Season 3 of Bigg Boss, Dekh Bhai Dekh and films like 'Bombay to Goa' and 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha'. (UNI)
