New Delhi: Television actor Dalljiet Kaur has filed an FIR against her husband, Nikhil Patel, alleging cruelty and criminal breach of trust.

The complaint was lodged at Mumbai's Agripada police station.

Recent developments in the couple's troubled relationship were highlighted when Nikhil Patel was seen at Mumbai airport with his girlfriend, Safeena Nazar.

Kaur, who married Patel in March 2023 and relocated to Kenya, has accused him of ill-treating her son from a previous marriage and causing her mental distress by refusing to return her jewellery.

The FIR, according to local media reports, cites sections 85 and 316(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Dalljiet Kaur expressed her gratitude to the police through her X account, thanking Joint Commissioner of Police Anil Paraskar, DCP Krishnatkant Upadhyay, Senior Inspector Yogendra Pache, and IO Sachin Shelke, as well as a lady constable for their support. Her tweet read, “Thank you AGRIPADA PS for letting a woman know that she is safe in this country.”
