Mumbai: Continuing its strong run in China, Aamir Khan's 'Dangal' is nearing the Rs 600 crore mark there and is heading towards the Rs 1300 crore mark in terms of its earnings worldwide, trade sources said today.The film has earned a total of 84.50 million dollars (Rs 545 crore) at the box office in China and is set to cross the Rs 550 crore mark by today.
The film could soon surpass the Rs 600 crores benchmark. With the huge earning from the Chinese market, Dangal now has earning of Rs 1287.58 crore worldwide and is now heading towards the Rs 1,300 crore mark.
Dangal has now become the first Bollywood film to enter the Rs 1000 crore club. Dangal is the second Indian film to do so after Baahubali 2 and the first Bollywood film to achieve this mark. It's worldwide collections is the highest earning for an Aamir Khan film ever.
The film , which released in China last week, has been enjoying a great buzz in China. A biopic on the life of Olympian wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, 'Dangal' is about how the wrestler trains his daughters to become world-class wrestlers.Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film also starred Fatima Sana Sheikh, Sanya Malhotra and Sakshi Tanwar in lead roles.
