Day 2: Kaabil’s collection doubles, but way behind Raees

Mumbai: The tussle between the Kaabil and Raees actor is becoming more intense as the  weekend is inching closer. As per the reports,  Movie Kaabil almost doubled its collection from the first day and earned 18.67 crores. However, even a 30 percent increase of his first day collection  took Raees to 26.30 crores on republic day. It is to be noted that Raees earned a whooping 20.42 crore on the opening day while Kaabil manage to earn 10.43 crores. The gross earning of Raees has thus touched 46.72 crore while that of Kaabil is 29.10 crore till date.
 

Earlier the trade sources said that 'Raees' has taken a huge lead over 'Kaabil', veteran actor and 'Kaabil' producer Rakesh Roshan and director Sanjay Gupta expressed satisfaction over the performance of the film.'With less than 40% screens we collected 10.43 Crs.
Well begun is half done.,'Sanjay Gupta tweeted.

Expressing satisfaction at the reception for 'Kaabil', Roshan said, 'So glad that Kaabil has been Kaabil enough of this much love & appreciation! I'm truly overhwmeled.…" Trade sources said the SRK movie has performed well in the overseas markets as well.On its opening day, the film earned over rs 5.25 crores overseas.Trade sources said 'Raees' is faring extremely well in most circuits abroad, especially in the UK circuit.

Both Raees and Kaabil was released on January 25 worldwide.'Raees', Directed by Rahul Dholakia, also stars Mahira Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in pivotal roles.Kaabil stars Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam in lead roles and Ronit Roy and Rohit Roy in key roles.
