The 'Bajirao Mastani' actor featured on the list for her contributions in the mental health space.

"I had such a deep experience with mental illness. Not talking about it felt dishonest," Deepika said to TIME100 feature.

The actor, who made her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in 'Om Shanti Om' in 2007, in the TIME feature said her personal experiences influenced her choices such as 'Piku' and 'Gehraiyaan'.

Deepika first spoke about wrestling with depression in 2015. The same year she launched 'LiveLoveLaugh Foundation'.

The foundation helps in destigmatizing mental health struggles while creating awareness regarding it. It also offers free psychiatric support, access to government-aided schemes and livelihood training to more than 1,800 individuals in four rural districts in the states of Karnataka, Orissa, and Tamil Nadu.

On the work front, Deepika is shooting for 'Pathaan', opposite Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham. The movie is slated to hit the theatres on January 25, 2023. (Inputs from UNI)
