Hyderabad:Telangana Minister for IT, KT Rama Rao (KTR) has responded to Bollywood actress Meera Chopra's complaint that she was abused and threatened of gang rape and acid attacks.
In a tweet on Friday, KTR had requested the Telangana Director General of Police M.Mahendar Reddy and the Hyderabad City Police Commissioner to take stern action as per law based on her complaint.
Apart from her tweets earlier, Chopra had tweeted on Friday, tagging KTR and and former Nizamabad TRS MP K Kavitha, stating I ve been abused of gangrape, acidattack, abused, cyberbullied and slutshamed by your state. "@hydcitypolice has filed an FIR and I hope for the safety of women this will be investigated thoroughly", she tweeted.
During a chat on social media platform earlier this week with the public, Meera mentioned that her favourite Teluguru actor was Mahesh Babu and she also said that she didn't know Jr NTR and he is not a fan of him.That was it, Jr NTR fans began abusing her for intimidating her in filthy language. They went to the extent of wishing that her parents should die of Covid-19.
Badly upset over it, Meera lodged a complaint online to the Hyderabad cyber crime police who registered a case against Jr. NTR fans for abusaing and threatenng actress Meera chopta with rape and murder.
She also tweeted to the National Commissioner for Women (NCW) Commission Chairperson Rekha Sharma over the issue.She tweeted to the Hyderabad police with screen shots of all the abusive and intimidating tweets and sought their help.
The Cyberabad police on Wednesday registered under IPCsections 506 (criminal intimidation), 509 (insulting the modesty of a woman) and section 67 of the information technology Act. (UNI)
