Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra was discharged from Breach Candy Hospital in south Mumbai on Wednesday morning, after his family decided that he would continue receiving medical care at home, according to his attending doctor.
The 89-year-old actor had been admitted to the hospital a few days ago for undisclosed medical tests. Neither the family nor hospital authorities revealed details about his condition.
“Dharmendra ji was discharged around 7:30 am. His family has opted for home-based treatment, and he will continue to be monitored by doctors,” said Dr. Pratit Samdani of Breach Candy Hospital, who was overseeing his treatment, told PTI.
Dharmendra’s family has now issued an official statement confirming his discharge.
The official statement reads:
“Mr. Dharmendra has been discharged from the hospital and will continue his recovery at home. We kindly request the media and the public to refrain from any further speculation and to respect his and the family’s privacy during this time. We appreciate everyone’s love, prayers, and good wishes for his continued recovery, good health, and long life. Please respect him because he loves you.”
Meanwhile, Esha Deol and Hema Malini had slammed false reports of his death. Esha said, "My father is stable and recovering. We request everyone to give our family privacy. Thank you for the prayers for papa’s speedy recovery."
