Mumbai: Amid threat by the Maharashtra Navrirman Sena to ban Pakistan actors working in Indian film and television production, Bollywood actor Anupam Kher today said the actors and artists from the neighboring country should condemn the killing of Indian soldiers at Uri.

Saying that art and culture should not have any boundaries, Anupam, who was in the capital for the promotion of a television show by his production house for the Zindagi channel, said that as artists, it was the ''responsibility of Pakistani actors, who worked in Indian productions, to condemn the terrorists, who killed our soldiers''.

''Art and Culture should not have boundaries, but actors should condemn terrorist activities.
It was because of Subhash Chandra's channel that they(pak actors) became popular.
But, it's important to speak about the massacre of soldiers.

It is important for them to tell people that we are thankful, we are given work in this country.
But we also condemn the act of killing Indian Jawaans.I am not saying you condemn your country.Politically, it may not be the correct move,” Kher said.

Anupam said that in 2014, he had written an open letter to the terrorists responsible for the attack in a school in Peshawar, Pakistan.MNS last week issued an ultimatum on September 23 to all Pakistani cine and television artistes to leave India.

In response to questions on whether art and artists should not be dragged into the Uri incident, Anupam said,'' there are some people from Pakistan who are wonderful and are great hosts.
But when it comes to my country and my Jawaans (soldiers), I cannot be diplomatic.
I’m biased towards my country.

What will I tell the mother of a Jawan, that there are no boundaries? ''I understand that Art and Culture should not have boundaries. But journalists can’t go on national television and praise Pakistanis. It’s important to make them uncomfortable and realize that India comes first.

” When asked on the controversies revolving Karan Johar's film 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' , whose release hangs in balance as it stars Pakistani actors Fawad khan, Kher said, “I have no personal problem with any actor.

I think their films (which have been made) should be released. But these actors can at least come out and say sorry and condemn the terrorist activities.” Kher was in Delhi to promote his production 'Khwabon Ki Zameen Par', which will be aired on Zindagi from next week. (UNI)
