Mumbai: Since two decades Khan trios has been ruling the box office. The trio has been on top three for last 20 years with few hiccups in between. During the lean patch, all three has bounced back well. However, now it looks like the expiry date of stardom is inching closer.  It looks to early to say, but yes the grip of the kingdom is losing.

Few years before, the name of Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Shahrukh Khan was a key to the sure shot success of the movie. This has changed from last two years. The triplet requires a good inbound script, Experienced director and attractive set to make it big at box office. Now they find it hard to skyrocket the movie singlehandedly at box office.

However the movies of these actors get a bumper opening more often, but if the reviews are discouraging it falls flat at the box office on next day. If the movie impresses the audience it reaches upto 300-350 cr mark.

The performance of the last five movies clears the picture of a downward trend, not only in terms of the collection but in terms of stardom as well. Let's have a look

Shahrukh Khan:-

Jab Harry Met Sejal (2017) :- Flop
Raees (2017):- Average
Fan (2016):- Flop
Dilwali (2015):- Average
Happy New Year (2014):- Super Hit

Shahrukh Khan's performance has been the most sluggish out of three Khans. He has emerged out to be the weakest star of the Kingdom. The last hit movie of SRK came four years back. If Zero doesn't click for Shahrukh it will be curtains for him.

Salman Khan

Race 3 (2018): Flop
Tiger Zinda Hai (2017): Blockbuster
Tubelight (2017): Flop
Sultan (2016): Blockbuster
Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015): Hit

Salman Khan has a huge fan following in India. He mostly releases his movie during the festival of Eid. It was said that on this occasion the flick will never disappoint distributors. But this myth has been broken. Out of the last five movies of Salman Khan two are flop. Interestingly both movies were released on Eid. The failure of Salman has shaken his stardom.

Aamir Khan:-

Thugs of Hindostan (2018): Flop
Dangal (2017): Blockbuster
PK (2014): Blockbuster
Dhoom 3 (2013): Blockbuster
Talash (2012): Flop

Likewise Salman Khan, Aamir too has two flops in his account in his last five movies. It is believed that the perfectionist Aamir Khan never disappoints at the box office. The negative reviews and low collection of Thugs of Hindostan have broken this myth. He has been heartbroken with the performance of this movie. However, no one can raise a question mark over his acting skill. Thus he is most nicely placed among three.

The challenge of new stars and Bahubali

The stardom of new stars like Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor is on the rise. While the magnum Opus movie Bahubali has thrown a new record before the triplet which they find hard to break. It looks like it is a matter of 3-4 year and Khans Kingdom will be a history in bollywood.
