Bengaluru: The Karnataka Forest Department has registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the producers of the forthcoming Yash-starrer Toxic for alleged illegal felling of trees on forest land during the film's shoot in Bengaluru.

The FIR also implicates the General Managers of Canara Bank and Hindustan Machine Tools (HMT) in connection with the incident.

Karnataka Environment Minister Eshwar Khandre recently visited the site in Peenya and reviewed satellite images, which reportedly highlighted the scale of deforestation in the area.

Expressing his concern, Khandre stated, "I personally visited the location where Toxic is being filmed. Satellite images clearly show that hundreds of trees have been unlawfully cut down on forest land under HMT’s jurisdiction for the movie. We will take the necessary actions against those responsible for this violation. Unauthorized tree cutting on forest land is a punishable offence."

Khandre also condemned the act on X, stating that hundreds of trees had been felled for the filming of Toxic, and instructed officials to take swift action against those accountable.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grownups is co-produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations. Yash, best known for KGF, stars in this action-packed film set against the backdrop of the drug mafia.

The movie, which was announced in December 2023, is slated for release on April 10, 2025.
