Firing Outside Rohit Shetty’s Mumbai Residence; Police Launch Probe

Unidentified persons opened fire outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence in Mumbai’s Juhu area early Sunday, PTI reported citing officials.

No injuries were reported in the incident, an official confirmed, adding that security outside the building was immediately intensified as a precautionary measure.

It remains unclear whether the filmmaker was present at his residence at the time of the firing.

“Someone fired at the building. Zonal police and crime branch teams are investigating the incident,” an official said.

Preliminary information suggests that four rounds were fired at the structure. No one was hurt, police added.

Teams from the Juhu Police and the Mumbai Crime Branch have launched a detailed probe. A heavy police deployment remains in place outside the building, while a forensic science team has reached the spot to collect evidence and examine the scene.

Rohit Shetty is one of India’s most prominent filmmakers, best known for blockbuster franchises such as Golmaal and Singham.
