Mumbai: The long-awaited first look of the upcoming Hindi action-thriller “Vikram Vedha” will be launched on January 10, on the occasion of lead actor Hrithik Roshan’s birthday.
The film is a remake of the Tamil film of the same name released in 2017.
T Series, said in a tweet: "The much-awaited first look of Vedha will be out tomorrow! #VikramVedha".
The Hindi remake is to be distributed by T Series and is scheduled to be released by September 30, 2022.
The film is being directed by writer-directors Pushkar and Gayatri, who had directed the hit Tamil film.
The film stars Saif Ali Khan as the police officer and Hrithik Roshan as the gangster, a role previously given to Aamir Khan who however dropped out of the project in 2020. Hrithik’s look as Veda, the gangster, will be revealed tomorrow.
“Vikram Vedha” follows the story of an honest cop named Vikram with a clear and rigid sense of right and wrong, and a criminal named Vedha who understands the grey shades of morality.
The Tamil film was a great hit and opened to great critical acclaim, with some people drawing parallels to “The Dark Knight”, remarking that the relationship between the cop and the criminal is similar to that of Batman and Joker.
The movie garnered Rs 600 million in total, making it the second highest grossing Tamil film of 2017 after “Bahubali 2: The Conclusion”.
Saif Ali Khan wrapped up a 19-day filming shooting in Lucknow last year for the film, while Hrithik shot its first schedule in Abu Dhabi.
The film also stars Radhika Apte in a pivotal role.
The film is produced by T-Series and Reliance Entertainment in association with Friday Filmworks and YNOT Studios. Producers include Bhushan Kumar, S. Sashikanth and Bhushan Kumar. (UNI)
