Govt has taken historic initiative for media and entertainment sector: Aamir Khan

Lauding the Waves as a historic initiative taken by the Central Government for the development of the media and entertainment sector, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan on Friday hoped India will take a big lead in the field.

Aamir was speaking at a seminar on 'Future Studios: Initiatives to put India on the global studio map' organised at the World Audiovisual and Entertainment Summit(WAVES 2025).
PVR and Inox founder Ajay Bijili, American filmmaker Charles Roven, filmmaker Dinesh Vijan, Prime Focus Limited founder Namit Malhotra, and filmmaker Ritesh Sidhwani participated in the seminar moderated by film critic Mayank Shekhar.

Aamir Khan said, the government was taking concrete steps to promote the Indian media and entertainment sector globally.This is the first time that such a dialogue has started between the government and the entertainment sector and this is definitely a promising start. The dialogue will definitely lead to far-reaching policies for this sector, he added. (UNI)<>
