Kolkata:It's an impeccable depiction of an outstanding novel, and unquestionably Srijit Mukherji's nicest work on the web.
This is arguably one of the best series of this genre in OTT - "Robindronath Ekhane Kawkhono Khete Aashenni", popularly known as REKKA.
Not all the characters had the opportunity to exhibit their acting proficiency in the series. Yet, Anirban Bhattacharya has deconstructed himself in the role of Ator Ali. Rahul Bose as Nirupam Chanda is excellent in his usual accent. Debopriyo Mukherjee has evolved irreproachably in the role of Falu.
And for whom no adjective is enough, is Azmeri Haque Badhon. Badhon has taken the character of Mushkan Zuberi to a distinct stature. Needless to say, the world of Bengali cinema has got a new actress to keep their confidence rest assured. Although there is not so much to do, Anjan Dutt and Anirban Chakrabarti have delivered their best to accelerate the pace of the series.
Rahul, Anirban, Debopriyo and Badhon have become the characters with their immaculate execution. This series has complemented the novel appropriately even after modifying the characters as required.
One of the most significant parts of this series is the music. Here, all the songs Srijit used are Rabindra Sangeet. The exceptional use of Rabindra Sangeet has given a unique dimension to the series. Jayati Chakraborty has once again proved that she is one of the best in rendering Tagore songs at the moment.
This time again Srijit has made a bet using that script card and emerged victoriously. It requires something special to urge anyone to watch a series that is more or less predictable from the very beginning. Here, those many specials have come together with the name REKKA.
Such series are inevitably rare in the Bengali language. On one hand here is abominable brutality, on the other hand, prepossessing beauty. The cinematography is good but the night scenes looked darker than required.
The main story is penned by Bangladeshi author Mohammad Nazimuddin, which Srijit Mukherji has adapted for the screen. He has taken the light and shade of the narrative to another level. Nazimuddin himself said on his social media that he liked the series very much. Srijit's REKKA filled the dearth of good Bengali thrillers in the webspace.(UNI)
