Indore: Amid a controversy in the wake of a nude photo shoot involving Bollywood heartthrob Ranveer Singh, this city – the cleanest in India – witnessed a unique protest when numerous local youngsters carried a large container wherein clothes were collected for the actor!
The receptacle bore the slogan ‘Swachh Indore ne thaana hai, desh se maansik kachra bhi hataana hai’ (Clean Indore is determined to dispose of the country’s mental garbage as well.) Singh’s picture was denounced as ‘Sankat mein Bollywood, maansik kachra’ (Bollywood in crisis, mental refuse.)
Such walls – present in almost every major city of Madhya Pradesh – are places where old clothes and other material are donated for the needy. (UNI)
