Mumbai:Action thriller 'Dishoom' has taken an en excellent start at the box office, earning a gross figure of Rs 65 crore at the box office worldwide in its opening weekend, the producers of the film said. While the film has grossed Rs 51.13 crore on its opening weekend in India, it has collected approximately two million US Dollars (Rs 13.35 crore) in the overseas region, taking its worldwide gross in the opening weekend to Rs 64.47 crore.
Trade sources said that with gross figure of Rs 13.34 crore in overseas, ‘Dishoom’ is Varun Dhawan’s highest opening weekend grosser.Varun’s earlier films ‘ABCD 2’, ‘Badlapur’ and ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ grossed 1.43 million US Dollars, 1.04 million US Dollars and 9,24,000 US Dollars respectively in overseas in their opening weekends.
Bringing to celluloid a fresh bromance, 'Dishoom' has garnered very positive reviews from the critics and opened to very encouraging collections on day one (Friday) collecting Rs 11.
