Kantara prequel set for Oct 2 release next year

Rishab Shetty starrer Kannada feature film "Kantara: Chapter 1" is set to release on October 2 next year, aligning with the festive occasion of Dussehra, the makers have announced.Following the resounding success of the pan-India hit 'Kantara,' production company Hombale Films is hoping to grab a global viewership with its prequel.

The multi-talented Rishab Shetty, who has earned acclaim as both an actor and director, will once more take center stage in this grand venture. He is not only the director-cum-lead actor, but also the script writer of the period piece.

To portray his character with authenticity, Shetty has undergone rigorous training in Kalaripayattu, one of the oldest martial arts forms originating from Kerala. His dedication in mastering the ancient art form has enhanced the realism and impact of his performance, embodying strength and tradition.

The makers took to X to announce the release,The film is produced by Vijay Kiragandur with B. Ajaneesh Loknath being the music director.(UNI)
