Kareena Kapoor in Talks to Star with Salman Khan in Raj & DK Superhero Film

Kareena Kapoor Khan is reportedly in advanced discussions to join Salman Khan in an upcoming big-budget superhero film helmed by director duo Raj & DK. The ambitious project is being positioned as a high-concept action entertainer and one of the most talked-about Hindi films currently in development.

While Kareena has not officially signed the film yet, reports suggest she has shown strong interest in the role and responded positively to the script. Salman Khan is said to have personally reached out to her, accelerating conversations around the project. Although Samantha Ruth Prabhu was earlier rumored for the female lead, Kareena is currently considered the frontrunner.

If finalized, this film would mark the fifth collaboration between Salman and Kareena, and their first in over a decade since the blockbuster Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The duo has previously shared screen space in films like Kyon Ki..., Main Aur Mrs Khanna, and Bodyguard.

Backed by Atul Agnihotri and Mythri Movie Makers, the yet-untitled film is expected to present Salman Khan in a unique role—an ageing superhero drawn back into action under unexpected circumstances, eventually getting caught in a much larger, high-stakes conflict.

The film aims to blend large-scale action with Raj & DK’s trademark style of quirky humor and stylized storytelling. It will also mark their return to theatrical cinema nearly a decade after A Gentleman, following their successful run in the OTT space with shows like The Family Man, Farzi, Citadel: Honey Bunny, and Guns & Gulaabs.

Salman Khan is expected to begin shooting for the film around October–November 2026 after wrapping up his current project with Vamshi Paidipally, which is slated for an Eid 2027 release. Meanwhile, his film Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace remains delayed with no confirmed release date.

On the other hand, Kareena Kapoor will next be seen in Daayra, directed by Meghna Gulzar, which is expected to hit theatres later this year. She was last seen in the 2024 hits Crew and Singham Again.
