Karni Sena wants ‘Padmavati’ release scrapped

Lucknow: A day after the Uttar Pradesh government suggested postponement of the release of producer-director Sanjay Leela Bansali’s controversial movie ‘Padmavati’ on December 1 in apprehension of law and order situation, Karni Sena chief Lokendra Singh Kalvi on Thursday announced that his organisation will not allow the release of the film at any cost.

“I appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to block the release of ‘Padmavati’.I am sure he will listen to us,” he said.“Padmavati will not be allowed to release on December 1.If it does, well it is an issue that we are ready to die for,” Mr Kalvi announced at a press conference here under the aegis of Rajputana Saurya Foundation.
