Bengaluru: 2022 has started off on a great note for Indian cinema with several great movies releasing, whether it be “The Kashmir Files”, “RRR”, “Attack”, “Radhe Shyam”, “Dasvi”, “Beast” and now with the highly-anticipated Kannada blockbuster “KGF Chapter 2” releasing on Thursday.
The movie had long been one of the most hyped 2022 releases in India, and with its initial reception the movie seems to have delivered on the ultra hype.
The Yash starrer has opened up to extensively positive reception and is all the rage right now, with bookings exceeding 50% occupancy.
To further fuel the rage, it is reported that KGF will also have a powerful global screening with screening on over 10,000 screens worldwide. Comprising over 4,400 screens in North India, 2,600+ screens in the South, 1,100 screens featuring the Hindi version overseas and another 2,900 screens playing the South languages overseas 'KGF Chapter 2' has, in fact, seen the widest post-pandemic release.
The movie has also gone to rewrite records collecting Rs. 31 crores net with advance ticket sales for the opening day with opening day earnings expected to go up to Rs.45 crores.
With an upcoming array of holidays marking a long weekend ahead with Ambedkar Jayanti, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday in sight coupled with the highly positive trends surrounding the film, the hype, the good reviews, the massive spate of advance etc the business of the film is bound to see event greater heights in the future with more substantial growth making it a record breaker.
