'Like' on tweet of Jamia Millia students was by mistake: Akshay

New Delhi: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar who landed in a soup when he 'accidentally' liked a video that allegedly mocked the attack on the protest in the Jamia Millia Islamia University, against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), on Monday clarified that it was by mistake.

Akshay tweeted a clarification and said,''Regarding the 'like' on the tweet of Jamia Milia students, it was by mistake. I was scrolling and accidentally it must have been pressed and when I realised I immediately unliked it as in no way do I support such acts.''

The protest outside the Jamia Campus area turned violent on Sunday, with mob pelting stones at the police, leaving six police personnel injured.The agitators alleged that the government is bringing such laws to target Muslims.(UNI)
