Mumbai: Best known for his role as ‘Shakuni Mama’ in B R Chopra’s epic TV series ‘Mahabharat’, popular veteran actor Gufi Paintal has passed away here, on Monday, following age-related health issues.
He was 78. His family shared a note on Instagram story, informing the sad demise of Gufi.
The post read, “RIP With profound grief we announce the sad demise of our father Mr Gufi Paintal (Shakuni Mama) He passed away peacefully this morning sorrounded by family”.
“Gufijis final journey will begin from his house at 3.30pm today to Oshiwara crematorium. Home address- F - 1404, royal classic Link Road Andheri (w) Om shanti,” the post further read.
Born on October 4, 1944 in Tarn Taran, Punjab, Paintal directed the movie, ‘Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’. He also starred in movies like ‘Des Pardes’, ‘Daava’ among others. He was also a part of TV series ‘CID’, ‘Karn Sangini’, ‘RadhaKrishna’. (UNI)
