Actor Mahesh Babu has lauded his Varanasi co-star Priyanka Chopra Jonas for her powerful performance in the action drama The Bluff, praising her commanding screen presence and high-energy portrayal.
As the film continues to generate buzz for its gripping narrative and intense action sequences, Mahesh took to social media to applaud Priyanka’s “swashbuckling” act, describing her as being in “top form.” He wrote that The Bluff is a well-mounted film packed with action and emotion, adding that Priyanka “ticks all the boxes” with her performance and extended his wishes to the entire team for their impressive work.
Filmmaker S. S. Rajamouli also praised Priyanka after watching the film’s trailer, calling her “unstoppable” and commending her commanding presence and fiery performance.
Priyanka is set to return to Indian cinema with Varanasi, directed by Rajamouli and headlined by Mahesh Babu. The film was unveiled at a grand event in Hyderabad last year, where Mahesh’s character was introduced in a dramatic reveal. In the upcoming project, Mahesh will portray Rudhra, while Priyanka will play Mandakini. Prithviraj Sukumaran is also part of the cast, and the film is slated for release in 2027.
Meanwhile, The Bluff, directed by Frank E. Flowers, is set in the Cayman Islands and showcases Priyanka in high-octane sword and gun combat sequences opposite Karl Urban. The film is produced by Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, and Angela Russo-Otstot under the banner of AGBO and premiered on Prime Video on February 25.
