Mumbai: He sets a new benchmark in Bollywood action thrillers with 'Force' with breathtaking action sequences and a 'Hollywoodesque feel'.With 'Force 2', the second edition of the film, John Abraham again packs a punch with its slick action sequences and its 'thrill-a-minute' screenplay that keeps the viewers constantly on the edge of their seats.

Promoted as an out and out action drama m 'Force 2' begins with a series of killings of three Indian RAW agents in China which shock the Indian RAW wing. They also discover that there is a mole (informer/ leak) in the Budapest Embassy, who is leaking all the vital information to the Chinese government.

In order to unearth this mole, the RAW officials assign Kamaljit Kaur aka KK (Sonakshi Sinha) on the job.She is joined by Yashvardhan aka Yash (John Abraham) from the Mumbai police department. The reason why Yash joins KK in the mission, is to avenge the death of his best friend (Freddy Daruwala), who was amongst the three RAW agents killed.

In course of their mission to find the mole, Yash and KK face a uphill task. They find themselves up against an antagonist who somehow manages to stay ahead of them every step of the way.
Shiv Sharma (Tahir Raj Bhasin) is driven by an unexplained grouse against RAW and India.
Just when Yash and KK think that they have solved the case, a shocking event happens that shuts down all the possibilities to solve the mystery.

The rest of The film deals with how the duo solves this case involving the RAW agents.
While 'Force' was directed by Nishikant Kamat, the sequel has been directed by Abhinay Deo, who earlier directed the comedy 'Delly Belly' and the thriller 'Game' and the TV series '24'.
Continuing from where Nishikant Kamat left, Abhinay Deo lends a sickness and finesse to 'Force 2'.

The breathtaking action sequences and the adrenaline pumping stunts keep the viewers constantly on the edge of their seats, especially during the first half, which gives the audiences a 'thrill-a-minute' feel.Though the pace of the film slackens a bit in the second half, the single minded focus remains on the action.

The screenplay by Parveez Shaikh and Jasmeet K.Reen is taut and keeps the audiences hooked with thrilling action sequences and the suspense. In terms of performances, John, continuing from where he left off in Force, comes up with his impressive 'tough' and 'hard-as-nails' cop act.As a RAW official K K , Sonakshi shows that her 'tough girl' act in 'Akira'was no fluke.
She comes across as a pro , performing action stunts with elan.

She shares a crackling chemistry with John in the film. However, it is Tahir Raj Bhasin, who impresses most with his act as the menacing and cold blooded Shiv Sharma, who always remains two steps ahead of Gash and K K. It is another superlative act by him after the Rani Mukhrrjee starrer 'Mardaani'.A film with action as its USP, does not leave any scope for music which is not much talked about.

However, the background music is good and complements the film. The film has sharp editing and a brilliant cinematography. In a nutshell, 'Force 2' is a treat for action lovers with its slick action sequences and is sure to create a new benchmark in Bollywood. Rating: 4/5: one for direction, one for screenplay, one for action and one for performances by John, Sonakshi and Tahir Raj Bhasin.(UNI)
