The makers of ‘Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders’ have officially announced the film’s release date, confirming that the crime thriller, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, will premiere worldwide on Netflix on December 19.

The announcement comes alongside the launch of a gripping teaser shared by the team on Instagram. The film will debut just days after its world premiere at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.

An Instagram post by Netflix read, “Inspector Jatil ka raat ke andhere se purana rishta hai, lekin Bansal Murders ka case aur bhi gehra hai. Watch ‘Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders,’ out 19 December, only on Netflix.”

The upcoming title marks director Honey Trehan’s latest project and brings Siddiqui back as Inspector Jatil Yadav, the sharp and relentless investigator introduced in the 2020 hit ‘Raat Akeli Hai.’

Set in Kanpur, the sequel revolves around the brutal massacre of a powerful family inside their mansion. As Jatil Yadav takes charge of the case, he uncovers a tangled web of wealth, inheritance battles, hidden motives, and long-suppressed secrets.

Written by Smita Singh and directed by Trehan, the film expands the universe of the original while introducing a fresh set of characters and conflicts.

Unlike the first film, which focused on a single murder, this instalment explores the far-reaching impact of a mass killing and the unsettling truths concealed beneath privilege and prestige.

The cast features an impressive ensemble, including Chitrangada Singh, Rajat Kapoor, Deepti Naval, Ila Arun, Revathy, Akhilendra Mishra, Priyanka Setia, Sanjay Kapoor, and Radhika Apte, alongside Siddiqui in the lead.

The 2020 film received acclaim for its performances and taut storytelling, and the new chapter promises to deliver the same tense, atmospheric crime drama with heightened stakes and emotional depth.

‘Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders’ begins streaming exclusively on Netflix on December 19.<>
