Netflix has a plethora of quality shows and movies that can be binge-watched. The top-notch OTT platform does not compromise when it comes to quality. Backing this fact the latest we hear is that a show worth 100 crores titled 'Bahubali: Before the Beginning' has been dumped by Netflix.
The quality of the show has failed to impress the platform. That's not all, they have approved an inflated budget of 200 crores for a redo of a similar project. Thus, the total budget of the web series has touched the 300 crore mark.
Notably, Two films of the Bahubali series were blockbusters at the box office. It is considered to be one of the most successful movies in Indian cinema. After a whopping collection of Bahubali flicks, Netflix planned a 9 episode show which was the prequel to Bahubali. It showcases the story before the larger-than-life image of Bahubali.
According to sources, when the show was produced in the range of Rs 100 crore, it did not go as expected and subsequently rejected. Netflix's top management believes that Bahubali is a cynosure and thus it requires concrete content. It has the potential to be India's reply to the mighty Game of Thrones.
Probably the show was ineffective due to the lack of budget. Netflix immediately asked the producers to prepare the show again, sanctioning two hundred crores. (WD)
