Noted supporting B-town actor who also played Indradev in 'Mahabharat' serial, Dies of COVID

Chandigarh: Veteran actor Satish Kaul passed away due to coronavirus related complications in Ludhiana on Saturday afternoon.
He was 76.According to his sister Satya Devi, the actor was admitted to a private hospital in Ludhiana where he had tested positive for Covid-19 and later died of the related complications.
The funeral of the noted actor will take place on Sunday, she added.
 
Kaul had started his career in the early 70s and acted in 300 Punjabi and Hindi films and also TV serials. He acted in popular Bollywood films 'Ram Lakhan', 'Pyaar Toh Hona Hi Tha' and 'Aunty No 1'. His famous Punjabi films were 'Maula Jatt', 'Sassi Punnu', 'Ishq Nimana', 'Suhag Chooda' and 'Patola'.
 
The veteran actor played the role of Lord Indra in the television serial 'Mahabharat' and was also known for Vikram Aur Betaal serial.Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh condoled the demise of Kaul.
 
In a condolence message, the Chief Minister described Kaul as a versatile actor, who played a pivotal role in the promotion of Punjabi cinema, art and culture.
 
Being a staunch votary of Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiyat, Kaul would be ever remembered by one and all for his enormous contribution for making Punjabi cinema popular amongst the people, he said.
 
Expressing his heartfelt sympathies with the family members, relatives and friends, Singh prayed to the Almighty to give them courage to bear this irreparable loss in the hour of grief and grant eternal peace to the departed soul.
