New Delhi: Marking debut in Bollywood with commercial film 'Student of the Year' to experimenting serious avatar in 'Badlapur', versatile actor Varun Dhawan, who will be next seen in Shoojit Sircar's romantic drama 'October', says it is an economically safe movie he has done.
Talking to UNI, Varun, who was recently in the national capital to launch a soulful track from his upcoming movie 'October' said,' Box office numbers affect your power in the film industry. If your box office is strong then you can take a chance with the movies in future. Taking risk is very difficult. So when you do a film you see how much is the film costing and how much return will it get.'

'So 'October' is an economically safe film which I have done. Because the money has already been recovered from the digital, satellite, and music. So now I just want the movie to touch people's hearts,' Varun said.

Asking him what attracted him to the script, the 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania' fame actor said, 'It is a film which has come out of a director's personal life. In 2004 there was an incident happened in Shoojit Sircar's life and since then he wanted to show something like this on screen.'

'It's written like a very young story. The character of Dan is a 22-years-old working as an intern in Dwarka's Radisson Blue Hotel. So it was a very fascinating experience and we shot the movie in total 37 days,' he said.

Whether the whole experience of 'October' cathartic to him, the 'Judwaa 2' actor said, 'It was extremely cathartic. It's been an incredible film and such films are not made usually.'

Asking any filmmaker who are on his wishlist, Varun said, 'I look for a good script, and a hungry filmmaker for sure.'

The actor told that he played 360 in this movie.

'October' is an upcoming romantic drama film directed by Shoojit Sircar and written by Juhi Chaturvedi.

The film stars Varun Dhawan, Banita Sandhu and Gitanjali Rao in lead roles.

Produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar under Rising Sun Films productions, the film is scheduled for release on April 13.(UNI)
