Mumbai: Had Padmaavat released on 1st December, Padman and Aiyaary would have been released on 25th January. It is a coincidence that both the movies had solo release, but unfortunately failed to create enthusiasm in moviegoers. Akshay Kumar has established himself as top notch star, plus his every movie has entered 100 crore club in last five years. Though the movie had an out of box subject, Akshay will be disappointed with the gross collection of the movie.

Despite a good start in the first weekend, Padman collected, 2.10 crore, 3.15 crore and 3.78 crore in the three days of second weekend. The gross collection of the 10 days is just 71.90 crore. Now, uncertainty looms large over its entry in 100 crore club. On the other hand, Aiyaary has performed even worse. The first weekend collection of the movie is 11.7 crore. The movie neither impressed critics nor public. It is the fourth flop movie in a row in which Siddharth Malhotra is in a lead role. (WD)
