Padman crawls at the box office in the first week

Mumbai: It was expected that Akshay Kumar starrer Padman will rake mullahs at the box office. Sadly, it is not the reality as the movie delivers a below average performance at the box office. Even though the accolades from critics has not given a milage to the movie as the subject is the social stigma related to menstrual cycle of women.

The movie started well on the weekend but failed to keep the momentum.The first weekend collection was 39.5 crore. While from Monday to Thrusday the movie collected 5.87, 6.12, 7.05, 3.78 crore. The gross collection in the first weekend is 62. 87 crore. The only Favourable point for the makers is that , the movie has a low budget and it will be termed average at a collection of 80 crores.(WD)
