Mumbai: Popular actress Priya Marathe, who made a mark in both Marathi and Hindi television and films, passed away on Sunday after battling cancer.
She was just 38 years old. She is survived by her mother and husband, actor Shantanu Moghe.
Priya had been fighting cancer for the past year. Her untimely demise has left the Marathi entertainment industry in shock and grief.
Born on April 23, 1987, in Thane, Priya began her acting career in 2006 with the Marathi serial Ya Sukhanno Ya. She went on to appear in several popular Hindi and Marathi TV shows, including Kasamh Se, Pavitra Rishta, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, Char Divas Sasuche, Tu Tithe Me, and Comedy Circus, earning praise for her versatile performances.
In films, she played notable roles in the 2016 movies ‘Vighnaharta Mahaganpati’ and ‘Kiran Kulkarni vs Kiran Kulkarni’.
Within a short span, Priya established herself as a talented and versatile actress. Her passing has created a deep void in the Marathi and Hindi entertainment world, with tributes pouring in from colleagues and fans alike.
