Bengaluru:Sandalwood actor Sathyajit passed away due to illness here late Saturday night.He was admitted in Bowring hospital for the past six days after he suffered a stroke. He died at 2 am, according to Sathyajit's son Akash.
The last rites will be performed shortly after 1:30 pm today.He also had suffered from gangrene in one of his legs. He could not recover after he suffered from jaundice.
Sathyajit, whose real name was Syed Nizamuddin, had played far too many character roles in Kannada films. He had also played a villain's role opposite Bollywood actor Nana Patekar in super-duper hit “Ankush.”
Sathyajit had acted in more than 650 Kannada films including Putnanja, Shiva Mecchida Kannappa, Chaitrada Premanjali and Aaptamitra.
He has also acted in Anthima Theerpu, Ranaranga, Nammura Raja, Yuddhakanda, Indrajit and others.(UNI)
